Welcome! We are so glad you are exploring what First Step is all about at Journey Christian Church. We believe First Step is more than a one-time event, and more than “baby dedication”. This is an opportunity for you as a parent to learn how to faithfully disciple your child to know, love, and follow Jesus. We believe what happens at home is more important than what happens at church, and we are here to partner with you – providing encouragement, resources and support from the very beginning as you disciple your family. This event is a celebration of your commitment to your child(ren)!

Next Steps:

REGISTER

Fill out the registration form. (We use this event as an opportunity to walk with families in discipling their children. As such, it is reserved for families who call Journey their home church.)

INVITE

We encourage you to invite family and friends who will celebrate this First Step with you. There will be a total of 10 seats available to you. Invite those who will encourage you, hold you accountable, pray for you and with you, and come alongside you while you disciple your children. We’d like you to include at least one trusted friend, mentor, or someone you serve with who will act as a prayer partner for you and your family.

PHOTOS

After you register, you will receive a link to upload 3 photos of your child(ren).

HOMEWORK

We will encourage you to write a letter or prayer to your child. You will be asked to share this letter at your table during the celebration event. More information will be sent in an email after you register.

No. This event is not infant baptism. Journey believes that baptism reserved for those who are old enough to understand the Gospel and have consciously and intentionally placed their trust and faith in Jesus Christ.

Yes, this year we are allowing children up to pre-K.

Yes, they are welcome, but please be aware that they are included in the 10 seats at your table
