Journey Christian Academy

Journey Christian Academy is set to launch in August 2027 with a clear mission to partner with families in providing Christ-centered, academically strong education that supports both learning and discipleship. We invite you to check out the FAQs below to get more information about this exciting new ministry.

Journey Christian Academy (JCA) is a college preparatory homeschool cooperative learning program for grades 6-12, not a state-recognized school. We partner with parents by providing structured, comprehensive instruction in core and extracurricular subjects as well as discipleship opportunities. Parents will retain responsibility for adhering to all state requirements for homeschooling as well as complete education oversight, all final grades and transcripts.

At this time, Journey Christian Academy is specifically designed as a college-preparatory program for grades 6–12. Our current mission and resources are focused on meeting the unique academic and discipleship needs of middle and high school students as they prepare for adulthood. While we do not have an elementary program scheduled for our August 2027 launch, we value the input of all families. If you have younger children, we encourage you to note that in our Interest Survey, as community feedback helps shape the future growth and vision of our ministry.

The academy will meet in-person 2 days per week (days to be determined). Students will be assigned work to be completed outside of in-person Academy days with parental support and oversight. Our curriculum plan includes core subjects (Math, English, Science, and History), Biblical Studies, Foreign Languages, and various electives. In addition to a minimum of four academic classes, participation and attendance in our Disciple Making program will be mandatory for all enrolled students.

All classes are taught by instructors with specialized knowledge in their respective subject areas. Every instructor is supervised and evaluated by the Director of Academic Affairs in coordination with the Executive Director to ensure academic excellence and theological alignment.

Parents are active partners and may serve in defined volunteer roles that support the Academy. Parents also retain final responsibility for their child’s education,  including maintaining and managing academic records, homeschooling form submission and state compliance, end of year testing and transcripts.

JCA is designed to be a supportive community for both veteran and new homeschooling families. While parents maintain legal responsibility for their child’s education, JCA provides the framework to make this manageable. We offer professional instruction, clear assignment schedules, and a community of experienced families to help guide you through state requirements and best practices. We are committed to walking alongside you and equipping you with the resources, structure, and fellowship necessary for your family to thrive on the homeschooling journey.

All curriculum used at Journey Christian Academy is approved by leadership and aligns with Journey’s theological framework and disciple-making mission. Academic excellence and biblical faithfulness are both essential.

Instructors will grade assignments and assessments and communicate results to parents. As a cooperative learning environment, Journey Christian Academy does not issue official transcripts or report grades to government agencies.

Our target launch date is August 2027.

Participation in our interest survey is the best way to provide input during the planning phases of JCA. Please continue to be on the lookout for updates in the e-bulletin and on this page.
