Private: Age Of Kings

It’s good to be king because kings are autonomous and unaccountable, right? A king doesn’t obey the law; he makes the law. And when the law gets in his way, he breaks it. But there’s a simple lesson that kings never seem to learn: rebellion against God always leads to pain. You belong to God. He loves you. You have to decide whether to humble yourself to him or press on and eventually suffer the consequences of your attempts to be autonomous. God didn’t spare his own Son to gain your salvation. He won’t spare your wealth, health, or marriage to get your attention.
