30 Hours per week; specific schedule to be coordinated with the CM Director
Classification
This is an Exempt, Salaried, Ministerial Exception position. In addition to other assigned duties, this staff member must be able to perform specified duties that relate directly to carrying out Journey’s mission and vision, be able to assist parents and children with participating in all aspects of religious activities at Journey, and must attend Journey Christian Church.
Purpose
To lead the ministry of the Waumba Land leaders, volunteers, and environment
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all Waumba Land environments on Sunday morning
- Schedule and support Small Group, Large Group, Guest Services, and Student Impact volunteers
- Edit and prepare curriculum and supplies for Sunday morning small groups
- Coordinate with large group volunteers, helping to prepare and program the large group environment weekly
- Assist with Guest Services set-up
- Assist with recruiting, training, and onboarding new volunteers
- Lead midweek supply volunteer team
- Maintain current and accurate files on Small Group environment members and volunteers, including the processing of new family registrations and volunteer applications and background checks
- Communicate effectively with Waumba Land parents through scheduled emails
- Assist with Waumba Land, Children’s Ministry, and Journey events
- Attend all Children’s Ministry Team and staff meetings
- Cast vision for Waumba Land volunteers and others
- Perform other duties as assigned
Spiritual Responsibilities
- Perform all duties and conduct your personal life according to Journey’s teachings, practices, theological beliefs, and standards
- Be able to pray for and with volunteers, parents, and children
- As opportunities occur, educate and train volunteers, parents, and children about Journey’s beliefs, and help them understand and live by Journey’s faith and practices
- Counsel, spiritually mentor, and advise volunteers as necessary
- Continually develops and demonstrates an authentic personal faith
Qualifications
- Able to lead and work in a team environment
- Able to have positive and professional response to all situations
- Able to exercise tact and discretion in handling and disclosing information of a confidential, controversial and/or sensitive nature
- Able to multitask, organize, and be flexible
