
Stephanie is wife to Jeff, and mom to Zach, Jonah, & Rowan. She has an M.S. in Community Counseling and, as it would suggest, is a relationship person. She’s been blessed with a curious and creative spirit and tries to use that whenever possible to help others enter into and strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ. One of her favorite things to do is listen to someone’s story or lend a listening ear.

James has been a pastor since 1989 and the senior pastor at Journey since 2006. He is responsible to ensure that the Journey family is well taught and well led. He does most of the preaching and is the primary communicator of Journey’s mission, vision, and values. Helping people find their way to a saving and growing relationship with Jesus Christ is a driving force of James’ life and ministry. He and Angie have been married since 1991 and have four children, a dog and a cat (but the cat wasn’t James’ idea).

Evelyn and her family have been attending Journey since 2013; she joined the staff in November 2018. She and her photographer husband, Roy, have three (ginger) kids Josh, Ethan and Reese. In addition to her work in Adult ministry, Evelyn is also a Voice Over Professional and she is licensed as a Registered Nurse. Her heart is for people to know God, know who they are in Christ and grow in their relationship with Him. The furthest place she has traveled to is Fiji.

Emily moved to Richmond in 2017 and began attending and serving at Journey around the same time. As a previous elementary school teacher, she is passionate about working with and teaching children about Jesus. She loves leading middle school and high school small groups, being outside, and any kind of game that requires competition. One item on her bucket list is to go to the Holi Festival in India.

As a part of the Student Ministry Production Team for the past four years, Joe helped design and execute the technical side of both large group and special events for Transit and InsideOut. Drawing from years of experience in live event production and management, and support from leadership, he hopes to continue building environments that inspire students to bring a friend!

Theresa is a Richmond native who loves to laugh, write, explore the city with her nephew, and spend way too much money on craft coffee. She is a worship studies major at Liberty University with a passion for music and leadership. A little known fact about her is that her first solo performance was as Simba in a middle school production of “The Lion King”.

Steve grew up in Arizona, joined the Marine Corps after college in 1980, served 30+ years on active duty, and retired in 2010. He joined the Journey staff in 2017 after almost 7 years in the government consulting world. He loves leading the Journey operations team, meeting people where they are, and helping them take the next step in their faith journey. He and Dana have been married almost 39 years; they have two married children, and three very active grandsons who LOVE to hang out at Gaga and Pepaw’s house! The best thing he’s EVER eaten was (and always will be) Dana’s homemade chocolate chip cookies!

Kara and her husband, Tim, both natives of the area, enjoy raising their three children in their hometown. As outdoor enthusiasts, they spend a lot of their time exploring new camping spots and swimming holes. Her role at Journey allows her to pour into new parents and their preschoolers as they build their foundation in Christ. Her favorite things are reading a good book on her hammock, eating Mexican food, hanging out with her chickens and two dogs, and anything not involving yard work. She said the best place she’s ever visited was Curacao which is home of the most breathtaking beaches in the world.

Tiffany grew up right here in Midlothian, VA. She has been attending Journey with her family since 2012. She joined the Journey staff in 2020 and is passionate about helping preschool aged children establish a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management as well as her Masters in Business Administration. Tiffany is a loving wife and mother of four beautiful children (Piercen, Drake, Maverick and Venice). Tiffany also loves to run long distances including marathons and half marathons when she has the time.

Kerry loves spending time with her three adult kids and exploring new places while traveling with her wonderful husband of 28 years. They have moved around the country quite a bit and have been in Virginia for 13 years and absolutely love it. The best place she’s ever been to is Ireland.

Melanie joined the Journey staff in August 2007. She’s passionate about connecting relationally with others and helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. She loves volunteering on UpStreet Sunday mornings where she can teach kids about Jesus. Her favorite things are spending time with her dogs, anything Disney, and reading a good book on her hammock.

Jeremy moved from Florida to Virginia in 2013 and began attending Journey shortly afterwards. He and his wife, Angela, met at Journey and were married in 2015. Together they have 5 boys! Jeremy loves to work on various types of equipment and claims safety as his number one priority when it comes to his work. Previous to working at Journey, he was a merchant marine and spent a great deal of time on the water as a tugboat engineer. His favorite movie is Top Gun which inspired him to join the Navy.

Kasey has attended Journey since 2012. She has a B.S. in Liberal Studies from Longwood University and completed an internship with Journey in the summer of 2018. She came on staff, summer of 2019. She resides in the city of Richmond along with her husband, Chris, and three children, Mackenzie, Lincoln, & Bentley. She and her family have a passion for local and global missions. Kasey and Chris are both trip leaders for Journey’s Global Compassion team, she has served in Haiti & Guatemala, and has high hopes to serve in Africa one day!

Linda has attended Journey since 2017 after moving to Virginia with her husband and two border collies. She is a servant leader with extensive experience leading teams in sales training, operations and corporate learning and leadership development. She enjoys developing training and project plans to provide opportunities for people to grow and develop. Linda is originally from Philadelphia but has lived and travelled in almost every part of the US. She loves to hang with her dogs, cook, work in the garden and play in her sewing room. Linda’s favorite city is Vienna, Austria!

Kaiser grew up near the coast of Alabama and made the decision to follow Jesus in middle school. He attended college at the University of Mobile and during his time in college met his wife Noel. He joined the Journey staff as the Middle School Student Director in 2019. He enjoys talking about sports, spending time with his family and meeting new people. His favorite sport is soccer and his new favorite team is DC United.

Coty has been with Journey since 2014 and on staff as the Production Director since May 2016. He’s had a growing passion for production and people since 7th grade. He and his wife, Jennifer, love exploring, cooking, and finding new adventures.

John loves living in Virginia with his family. He’s been in ministry for over 20 years and is passionate about leadership and developing other leaders. He enjoys going to the beach and the mountains with his wife and two teenage boys. If he had only one movie to watch for all time it would definitely be The Princess Bride.

Karen is a proud wife and mom of two teenage girls. She spends a lot of her free time helping her girls explore their love of theater. She is originally from Rochester, NY, but moved many times before ending up in Richmond in 2002. She and her family have been part of the Journey community since 2007. She has a background in Genetic Counseling and Corporate Training and enjoyed the challenges of those fields before settling into her current role at Journey. One of her favorite movies is “Savannah Smiles,” a touching film for people of all ages.

Samantha was raised in the Mojave desert in Southern California. After moving around the world while serving in the Air Force, she settled in Virginia and continues to serve part time in the Air National Guard. She and her husband, Dave, discovered Journey in 2015 and she became part of the staff in 2018. She feels blessed to have an opportunity everyday to watch people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. She enjoys traveling, trying different foods, and driving her Jeep. Her favorite smell is coffee.

Mike began attending Journey in 2006 with his wife, Michelle. Over the last 13 years, they’ve both enjoyed volunteering in student ministry, leading small groups, and participating in community engagement events with their three boys, Braden, Rylan, and Ashton. After many years working for the Federal Aviation Administration, Mike joined the Journey staff in 2015 as the Service Programming Director. He enjoys all types of music, movies, and anything related to the Virginia Tech Hokies! The best place he’s ever visited was Delaware. Hi……I’m in Delaware.

Suzanne is a travel-loving, history-minded 3rd grade teacher. She’s been married for 20 years and has 3 children. She loves to play tennis, ski, paddle board and be in nature. If she could have one superpower it would be to time travel.

A Virginia native, Wendy is wife to Mitch and mom to Sarah and Rachel. She has a B.B.A. in Finance and enjoyed careers in banking and education before joining the Journey team in 2019. She loves music, Disney, exploring Richmond. Her bucket list includes trips to Italy, Greece, and on safari in Africa.

Kambui was born in New Jersey and raised in California. He delights in the outdoors, with snowboarding and water sports at Lake Tahoe being his favorite pastimes. Kambui loves games of all kinds & enjoys having a good time with his family and friends. He began a relationship with Jesus as a teenager and not long after began serving in his local church. Since then he has enjoyed over 20 years of ministry. He joined the team at Journey in 2014. Kambui has a love for diversity and oneness, exploring God’s character through the Bible, coaching leaders, worship and all things music.

Grayson has been serving at Journey since January of 2019. He’s a graduate of Johnson University with his Bachelors in Preaching & Youth Ministry, and Bible and Theology. He is from St. Louis, MO and in his free time you can find him watching movies or sports with family and friends. He’s blessed with his incredible wife Kylie. His favorite TV show is The Office!
