A special message with James Brummett & Kambui Tendaji
The week of July 4, 2016 was a tragic week in our nation. Two black men were shot and killed by police on Tuesday and Wednesday and then on Thursday a sniper opens fire on police at a peaceful protest in Dallas killing five officers and wounding nine more, two of whom were civilians.
Many emotions flow as we process these events, and others like them. You may be angry, hurt, grieving or disillusioned. You may be afraid. Afraid that something similar may happen to you or afraid that if you speak up someone will misunderstand you and you’ll be labeled in some undesirable way. The only way for the darkness around us to win is for those of us with the light of Christ to remain hidden. Christians must speak up and we must speak up with the Gospel of Jesus Christ … a Gospel built on love, humility, sacrifice and reconciliation.
In this message two of our pastors, James Brummett and Kambui Tendaji, have an open and honest conversation about how we can find common ground as a nation – especially among Christians – and how we can move forward.
In the midst of these tragedies, the Church has an opportunity to shine the light of Jesus Christ into a broken and hurting world. The question is, will we?
