Mission:
Our mission is to provide referral to Christ-centered care for those seeking assistance, by assessing their needs and making the appropriate counseling or ministry referral, so they may experience God’s grace, comfort, healing and direction.
Message:
We all face trials in our lives and God can use them to strengthen our dependence on Him and experience His unconditional love and acceptance.
Method:
We have a network of professional counselors and ministries to which we refer based on the care receiver’s specific needs.
Vision:
Our ministry provides a safe place where people can get help when faced with life’s challenges. The referrals ministry seeks to direct those in need to a professional counselor and/or ministries where they can experience God’s grace, comfort, healing and direction. Our goal is to help care-receivers to experience acceptance, safety and confidentiality. The referrals ministry partners with professional counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, life coaches, mediators, etc. that specialize in dealing with, depression, anxiety, marriage issues, addictions, family/parenting problems, divorce, and career, to name a few. Through counseling referrals we want to glorify God and communicate His love and comfort to those in need.
Long-term counseling is not offered at the church. Because of the vast amount of varied resources in the Midlothian and Greater Richmond area, we feel it is best to refer out to professionals. If you are interested in a counseling referral, complete the confidential online request below. It will be directed to a member of our volunteer Care Network Team, who is bound by a confidentiality agreement. By completing the form, you will share the information necessary to make the best recommendation according to your needs. This volunteer team member will reach out to you for an initial conversation to learn about your specific situation and ask questions that will help them make the best referral possible.
If you are a regular attendee or member and are involved in a community group, serving on a strategic service team, or contributing to the mission of the church, we may be able to assist with some with the cost of counseling if you have financial need. Should there be a need, please indicate that on the online counseling referral form. Once received, we will let you know if and how Journey Christian Church can help. When we do assist financially, we request that individuals pay something toward each session so you will be invested in the counseling and so any available funds will last longer.
